Research has shown that bee venom is around 100 times the strength of a cortisone shot when used for treating inflammation related pain. A compound in bee venom called Melittin is responsible for this reaction.
Melittin (link to study) is a basic peptide consisting of 26 amino acids. As the venom penetrates, the acids begin to reduce the swelling that causes pain. Very helpful in common areas such as the lower back and neck, as well as joints like shoulders, knees and elbows, to name a few.
Wrists and fingers are another very common source of pain for those that suffer from arthritis.
Bee stings are a natural remedy for this discomforting and sometimes deforming disease. To find a beekeeper with joint pain is very rare, especially in the hands where stings most often occur.
So, it's no wonder that, in some cultures, BVT has been used for thousands of years. With obvious success, or they would have not continued the use of bee venom all these years.
Actual stings are used for a multitude of health issues including treating Lyme disease (link to study) and studies show the compounds in venom can be used to combat HIV (link to study).
While both of those require more intense dosages, inflammation related pain issues such as arthritis, back and neck pain and more are treatable with smaller doses.
Many of the people could benefit from bee venom therapy are simply not interested in, or willing to, be stung by a honey bee.
That's where our inspiration came from. We have witnessed the amazing results of actual sting therapy treatments and have assisted dozens get started.
